The "new" XFCE printer applet

Postby dclement on Tue Oct 15, 2013 12:25 pm

Since UP7, I have the pleasure of seeing a print management applet in the XFCE notification area. Here it is (5th from left):
This is nice! Before UP7 I had none, and it's very convenient e.g. for troubleshooting or cancelling a print task.

However, it does have a slight flaw: it doesn't get refreshed properly. When the print tasks are completed, it remains there. You can click it and refresh it manually, which empties the list of print tasks. But that does not make the icon disappear; even its tooltip displays "x documents in print queue".

This is a very minor annoyance and this little indicator is definitely better than nothing (as was the case before UP7).
