Keyboard and mouse not working after upgrade

Postby jiffypop23 on Tue Nov 05, 2013 12:39 am

So after updating this LMDE Cinnamon machine, and booting into the 3.10 kernel, the mouse and keyboard do nothing at the login screen.
If I boot into 3.2, there's graphical glitches everywhere but the mouse and keyboard work, so I know it isn't a hardware issue.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I've noticed something by comparing the outputs when booting into the recovery mode for the two different kernels.
In 3.10, there's a
Code: Select all
libkmod: ERROR ../libkmod/libkmod.c:554 kmod_search_moddep:could not open file '/lib/modules/3.10-2-486/modules.dep.bin'

that shows up a few times. It shows up after loading the fuse, loop, and ndiswrapper modules. Also after mounting the local filesystem.
Then it says
Code: Select all
fuse: device not found, try 'modprobe fuse' first
failed

If I try modprobe fuse in the recovery shell it repeats the libkmod line.
