[SOLVED} Error during intalling mintdesktop_3.2.2_all.deb

Hi.

Today i've just update my LMDE for about 137mb. something odd happens. when the mintupdate trying to install this package mintdesktop_3.2.2_all.deb, it returns to this error:

Code: Select all

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mintdesktop_3.2.2_all.deb: there is no script in the new version of the package - giving up

for clearer message:



how do i fix this?

I followed all of your instruction and it fixed the mintdesktop 3.2.2 all deb problem entirely. LMDE is my best and only OS that I use, it is the only stable and sure system I ever used. Thanks again.... Andre Tremblay

I did this, but now everything is blocky and ugly; can anyone get the desktop to be "pretty" as it is supposed to be in the live version and previous version?

Edit: OK, I figured out what I did wrong: I used

Code: Select all

 sudo apt install mindesktop 

instead of

Code: Select all

 apt install mintdesktop 

It is possibe to recover from this?
