Hi..
I have a problem updating my system. Update manager freezes, synaptec gives unresolvable dependencies, (some time ago something simmillar regarding nautilus dropbox (and still same problem)

I searched and executed

sudo dpkg --configure -a

I got no errors but nothing changed, still having same errors above.
Any help?

Disable any 3rd party repos, refresh and try again. If still a problem post contents of /etc/apt/sources.list and /etc/apt/sources.list.d

I had the same problem. I opened Software Sources and disabled spotify non-free source code, and the problem was gone. Obviously, this will not help if you don't have spotify installed :wink:

but gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d gives an error something lick check you typed the path correct, seems it does not exist.

This is a directory not a file

ok... so contens of the directory are only 2 files, dropbox.list and dropbox.list.save

how to solve the update problem?
p.s.: what repos should I have?

Ok, then the problem with dependencies may be the dropbox repo or because you have enabled the backports repo. Try disabling those, refreshing the packages and trying again.

Still trying to sort it out.
The error message that appears says that I should make sure that I have all required repos.
Where can I find LMDE repos?

i don't know when was introduced, but has been there for a while (say few months) and i agree it's one of very useful inxi features

your update seems pretty much like the one i did yesterday, once you remove that file (btw is useless, dropbox will still get updates), your outpup will be clean, i believe;

BTW, any other repos I should add? Where can I find a list of official/trusted repos?

edit: I tried update through synaptic, no errors, no updates as it seems that neccessary updates were done when I executed commands you gave me above.

I just installed a fresh Mint Debian and have the same problem.

From installation I started out with 100's of conflicts, after deleting everything locally created or obsolete I currently narrowed it down to one problem:

VLC player's: vlc-nox requires libasound2 > 1.0.24.1 which is unavailable.

Never mind...

Apparently this IMPORTANT INFO wasn't important enough to be in the Known issues.
