Mint to Debian Testing...mint packages safe to remove

Hello to all of you...I have been using mint debian for about 6 months now, when yesterday I decided to migrate to ("real") Debian Testing...All went well and now I am a proud Debian testing user 
So my question is:
Is it safe to remove the mint-* packages, or there may be some break on the system?
