Strange message in gnome-terminal [Solved]

Postby cmost on Wed May 02, 2012 5:14 pm

While I don't consider myself a newbie, I've started getting a couple of strange message in the terminal window upon opening it. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it? Much thanks in advance! Here's the message:

Code: Select all
bash: /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/10442/tasks: No such file or directory
bash: /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/10442/notify_on_release: No such file or directory

on root terminal,

nano /etc/bash.bashrc

scroll all the way to the end,
look for something like your unwanted display, and comment them out.

Code: Select all
#if [ "$PS1" ] ; then
#   mkdir -p -m 0700 /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$ > /dev/null 2>&1
#   echo $$ > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/tasks
#   echo "1" > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/notify_on_release
#fi

ctrl-x
Y
enter

then, open a terminal again to check if it disappear.
