how to install Remastersys Program

hi guys
I'm new in linux mint lmde mate
i have some problems , i want to install some programs from ppa repositories but i can't
remastersys i use this program after installing everything in ubuntu then make a capture to the OS , then burn it to flash via unetbootin
plz , how can i install it in lmde mate 201204

2) remastersys has its own repo

I might be able to help you out as I've been trying out a simular app buy it failed me last night, I thought it might have been because I was backing up a sdc10 partition but I just realised I was trying to back up a mint gnome partition.

I'm just going to back up an lmde xfce partition to make sure it still works, I'm assuming if it works on lmde xfce then it will work on lmde gnome.

What do you use the backups for? is it to transfer to another machine or to reinstall to the same partition?

What size is your hard drive, how much spare space do you have on it, is an SSD?

HI ukbrian i use backup for reinstall it to the same partition i don't love install bare metal OS and then install the programs , i love custom image

i have now all programs installed on mate and it's ready for captured , about the space /dev/sda3 = 56 GIB and used space 11 GIB
i install remaster from debian repositories but Independence files not found i try the Lenny and Squeeze

i love mate but i think it difficult than ubuntu

the last question when ubuntu hang i press alt f1 then i go to process gdm or lightdm and restart it
sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart OR sudo service gdm restart on mate what can i do , it's not work at all

If you can create another partition of say 20 GB or you have an external drive/USB maybe even a 16 GB stick then look at this one
http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=197&t=89189 it works OK.

Instead of an installable ISO it zips up all your drive but if you need to reinstall you either need a second linux OS or you can use the rescue iso, I put it togethet so you can blame me if it's crap.

I did it last January and I can't remember if I did a video or not.
If it works for you make a post on that thread so other folk will see it a bit easier Gerd put a lot of effort into it.

This forum is the pits for finding anything, badly in need of reorganizing, good friendly community tho.

I forgot to mention that if you install a backup to a different partition on the same machine you will have 2 partitions with the same UUID which will cause problems.I use the standard video drivers and I have restored backups to a different machine without any problems.

There is a dd command line to change the UUID but I haven't found it yet and manuals are beyond this old fart.
