Hi! I am really enjoying this distro. Have no complains yet. But I do have a few questions.

1. Is there a way I can restore the default entries in the startup applications preferences list? I accidentally deleted some entries but cannot get them back. Plus I have forgotten what they were. So i want to go back to the default entries. Same thing for the services

2. What would happen if i removed from all entries?

If you used the desktop/GUI service control, you would only have been able to stop/start the load of the program, not delete it..

• Auto Start Up an Application
  In Windows, you can place a program shortcut in a startup folder for running a program automatically when the system starts. In Linux Mint, you can do the same in this way:
  Go To Menu > Applications > Preferences > Startup Applications
  Click the "Add" button.
  Name a program.
  Click the "Browse" button and navigate to File System > usr > bin, where programs are usually installed.
  Select a program, click the "Open" button followed by the "Add" button.
  
  The above program will then be listed in additional startup programs. Check if the program runs automatically by logging out and back to the system.

--as it says, look into /usr/bin to see filenames (applications that are executable..); you should be able to recognize some/all of the names.

And you can also check into /etc/xdg/autostart
--if you actually haven't removed the files completely or you could check your /home/.trash folder to see files you have deleted and copy them back out..

Hi! Thanks for the prompt reply! You are right, the entries are not deleted permanently. They are still there in /etc/xdg/autostart

And you are saying if I want to add new programs to that list, I should select from /usr/bin correct? (Just making it clear)

About my 2nd question, what would happen if i remove all the entries? would it still boot? (I wont try this)
Can I remove mint update/ mint upload safely? And which entries can be removed safely? (Because I want the quickest startup possible)
