[SOLVED] Touchpad stopped working

Hello.
I don't normally use the touchpad, but yesterday I didn't have a USB mouse so I used the touchpad, but it wasn't working I've tried everything in this thread: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 1&t=100450 but nothing has worked. The gpointing-device-settings doesn't even know I have a touchpad, in fact, when I use one of the methods I get this:
And yes I have the Synaptics package installed, the system is up to date, and when I installed the OS I remember the touchpad worked.
I'm using Linux Mint Debian (64-bit) (Cinammon) on a Dell Vostro 1510.
Any ideas? I'll really appreciate any help you can provide me.

Couldn't find synaptics properties. No synaptics driver loaded?
