[SOLVED] pdf printing

Post by walrus_t »

Hi everyone,

I use LMDE and have trouble printing some pdfs:
- classic pdf files (generated by Word or other software) are printed correctly with my HP Laserjet P1005 (hplip driver);
- but pdf files generated by LaTeX (dvips then ps2pdf) are not printed correctly... Parts of the document are printed fine but other parts are missing (beginning of lines are printed (first letters) then the rest of the line is blank)...

This is a recent problem (last big update yesterday). Before that, everything was fine.

Could you help me please?

Hello,

It doesn't seem to me that this thread should be in "Newbie Questions" section... if you read carefully, it's not a simple printing problem.

I found a solution: this is related to a bug in latest (1.12) libcairo2 package.

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=679105

Using acroread instead of evince allows printing pdfs correctly, without the need to downgrade libcairo2 package to 1.10 version.
