How to "auto reconfigure" Sound settings

Postby gio4 on Fri Feb 22, 2013 9:43 am

Hi,
i am a newbie and i have the following issue'(s)
I installed successfully Linux Mint Debian Edition! and i get the WoW! effect on me! (sorry about my bad english)
Everything was OK! sound, graphics, etc. until i have the idea to install nvidia drivers. (because of like to use compiz etc. doesn't matter)
I think i made some mistakes but after that i successfully installed the nvidia-settings etc.

But! ...here comes the brick... however now when i make a reboot:

1. In GRUB the keyboard is working properly!!!
2. On Welcome screen the mouse and the keyboard are not working until i unplug and replug the usb-dongle (keyboard and mouse use the same usb-dongle)
3. The same thing with my usb-Webcam i have to unplug the usb and replug the usb then the Webcam is listed in the Sound /Sound-Setting Application (little speaker icon in the right section of the panel)
4. No sound !!! and this is the biggest problem because i can't unplug and replug so easily like the above.

for me is it something like in a step on loading Mint who auto recognize the connected device's but i am a newbie and i don't know! (because on GRUB e.g. the keyboard works...)

That why i ask if there is a way to auto reconfigure e.g. Sound or everything like on a new installation. Because on trying to solve the Problem i made a lot of different changes! not possible to list here.

Some of my Data after unplug and replug the usb-dongle for keyboard and mouse:

Re: How to "auto reconfigure" Sound settings

Hi LMDE fans and users!

Because of having no feedback and any help i decided to make the following:

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get autoremove pulseaudio
sudo apt-get purge pulseaudio

then i reboot my system and for the first time after a long period ualla the mouse was working without to have "unplug_and_replug" the dongle.
but as I expected no sound and no small speaker icon on the panel for sound.

Now i am thinking what should be my next step? because my goal is to have again sound! ...grateful for any help!

some of my output s now are:
Code: Select all
gio@mymint ~ $ lspci | grep Audio

Code: Select all
