Can people suggest a good stand-alone calendar to replace sunbird? For a good many years I've had it starting up straight after I boot the PC, where it immediately draws my attention to what things need doing now, etc.... But it's getting creakier and creakier as my OS gets updated (on LMDE update 7).... it now keeps opening with an old calendar file instead of the current one.
I don't get on with Lightning because a lot of the functionality is hidden on first starting Thunderbird and is too easy to overlook. AFAICT Iceowl also is only available as an add-on.
What's people's advice?

I hope you get some good suggestions because a stand-alone calendar for is I think a somewhat of thin category on Linux Some alternatives listed here: http://alternativeto.net/software/sunbi ... form=linux. On KDE I'm using KOrganizer but on other desktop environments I haven't found anything usable.

I'll be glad of anybody's experience with alternatives - thanks for the link.
Maybe BORG would do, unless there are more cons than pros people know about.
