No, you'll have to downgrade a lot of packages to go back in time to LMDE 201403. Understand that LMDE is a semi-rolling release, and that LMDE 201403 is just a snapshot of the state of LMDE from March 2014. We're now in June 2014, so already beyond that.

Hi Snowie,

LMDE is currently on Update Pack 8. If you start Mint Update Manager and then click on the "Update Pack Info" button you can see which Update Pack you are on. Any third party software like Firefox, Thunderbird, Flash, ... should also have been updated with Mint Update Manager.

One thing you might want to try is "Software Source", just to make sure you are on the fastest mirrors. They seem to change around from time to time.

Only apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade are necessary. If they show nothing to upgrade, then you are up to date.

Hope this helps. :D

Thanks Guys,

Its on update pack 8 2014.02.04 so nothing more since February, as 201403 is march I was expecting to see newer updates, but now I understand.
Also on fastest mirrors which make a huge difference.

Thanks again

Update Pack 8 and 201403 ISO might have been released in February/March, but the actual snapshot of Debian Testing repo has been made sometime in the beginning or middle of December 2013.
After that, no new Update Packs have been issued yet. Even though now is June 2014, LMDE is still in the state of 201403 ISO/UP8 - with the small difference in the packages from the Mint repo which have been updated since then.

I'm on LMDE 201403 but I started with LMDE 201403 so I have no idea what came before it.

I asked a question a few weeks ago in this forum, and got some help. The guy who helped me determined my LMDE 201403 system was not the same as his LMDE 201303 + UP8 system in all respects, although that he had expected it to be.

The specific command he told me to run that was not in LMDE 201403, but was in LMDE 201303 + UP8 was services-admin. I do not know what package that is part of (and wouldn't know how to find out) but anyway the package was not installed as part of LMDE 201403. I did install the package and was then able to run the command.

No need of
Code: Select all
apt upgrade

Just use
Code: Select all
apt dist-upgrade

But read the release notes carefully. The road between 201303 and 201403 is not that easy :)
