error in running glxgears

i have linnux mint debian when i type glxgears in terminal it shows the error
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual
please give solution for this problem.

First of all, do you have 3D enabled, using opengl?. What you really should be interested in should be the output of;

    $ glxinfo
Please check that first and post the output of that command here.

when i type glxinfo then it shows
name of display: :0.0
Segmentation fault
but now when i type glxgears it showing the error
Segmentation fault
but last day it was showing the error which i posted earlier
