Hi I just switched from ubuntu lts
I have been using amazon for purchasing single songs.
I wanted to purchase an album but they only let you do that with the amazon mp3 downloader tool.
It comes in a lot of linux flavors bu when I try to use the ubuntu or debian 5 one it says it missing the file.

Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libboost-filesystem1.34.1

any clue about how to fix this would be great.

I had the same (or at least similar) problem installing on Mint main edition. There is a fairly long list of dependencies that seem to be missing, which some of those also have missing dependencies! The way I solved it was to go to the Ubuntu Packages (http://packages.ubuntu.com/) and search for them there. You seem to have to have the exact version that it wants. The only issue is that you are trying to install on Debian, rather than an Ubuntu-based distro but with any luck the same method will work!

Also, although I've not tried it, I stumbled across an open-source version of the downloader http://code.google.com/p/pymazon/ which might be easier

I had this issue as well. http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=62765

It was fairly easy to fix. Just download and install the older files from Lenny.

That looks interesting. I might have to give it a try.
