Trying to utilize LMDE (insteaded earlier Mint 9) as OS for our Media/tv-PC, but wondering few things (as in Mint 9 and 10 can do easy) - machines ON 24/7 and should be logged in with "standard"-user:

How to do work-arounds in LMDE:

1. In "Users and Groups" users Password selection "Don't ask for password on login" stays gray (=cannot select). I would like to "standard"-user

2. "Login Screen settings" / "Log in as" allows to select only main user (i.e. dropdown empty even if other users already activated and used).

Thanks

3. When auto-connecting network-drive (with Gigolo as FTP), I cannot be found that as earlier "/home/usr/.gvfs (as in Mint 9 and 10). I can see them in Nautilus, but e.g. Miro would like .gvfs-solution....

Found reason for this strange behavior: I installed both LM10 (1st) and LMDE in same machine
- with same "/home"
- same Main_user name / psw
- same normal_user name / psw

Looks that things got messed up always on 2nd entry of normal_user (main user was working OK).

After using LMDE (only) in other machine, from now only diff. users to be used (just to be on safe side) resulting:
- Item 1 not changed (stays gray),
- item 2 now working (can select also other user than main_user), so also 1 OK.
- Item 3. solved (with BA-NAS110) BY using NFS (fstab and autofs5 as per other advice from gurus), so all can see network drives easily
