How do I get rid of the annoying beep in gnome?

Postby xircon on Sun Jan 30, 2011 3:05 pm

On boot-up and close-down I get an annoying beep (buzz). I have tried everything to get rid! Been at it for days.

Currently have unloaded and blacklisted pcspkr & snd_pcsp, I can get rid of the beeps after boot-up using xset, but cannot get rid on boot/close!
