Ok, at this point. Hardware does not seem to an issue. I am not sure what log I to pull up and view.

Thank you for the information provided so far ... but we still need a few more details.

You are using the x64-bit version of which LM distro and desktop?

Most importantly ... explain "flashing desktop"??

When? For how long? With apps open? Upon booting?

How long have you been using this version of the OS?

Did the 'flashing' problem start immediately? Or after an update/upgrade?

Re: Flashing Desktop!

Postby dr_zin on Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:14 pm

Over the weekend I ran the ( apt-get upgrade ) in the cml. It was after every thignw as DL and the install process begain the this Flashing begain or “ Black Outs” start to acure. Which are timed for every 30 seconds, for 2 seconds. This issue is not application base casuation is start when the xorg start at log in. It seem about the time when the “GDM3” is exacuted for the question to over ride current configuration. I am not sure that is the case.

So, I started a backup so, I can figure this out.

I did a clean install. Redeplyed my back up and the issue did not acure, until I ran the globe upgrade. The remanafest of the issue acured.

So I did an other clean install verfy that it was this very issue, that I get the bug a package. Which I am not sure which that one would be.

I do use the the rolling distro.
