Compiz Randomly Shuts Down

Postby technoshaun on Sun Apr 03, 2011 1:43 am

I have installed Compiz and Emerald but Compiz will randomly shut down. Something as simple as opening Mint Menu can cause this to happen. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Let me rub my crystal ball and psychically determine your graphic chipset/card and system specs. The spirits tell me that your graphic chipset/card can't handle compiz and that you should Google said chipst and determine Linux compatibility.

Nope has worked fine with 5 versions of Ubuntu. Intel Graphics, not top of line but well supported. I just figured it out though. Had to turn off blur (which is buggy) and turn on workarounds. Did that 5 minutes ago.
