Enabled Compiz, Broke System
Thinking Compiz was installed, I did a bad thing and went into gconf and set it as the wm. Not all of the Compiz packages are installed by default so when I rebooted and clicked on my username to login, I got an unknown module error. The only way I can get into the system is by recovery as root. I edited the gconf .xml file that contains the value I changed back to gnome-wm but that didn't help. I used dpkg and uninstalled the Compiz packages I could find, thinking it might default to gnome-wm without them, but no luck. How do I set gnome-wm back up as the window manager? Thanks.
