Hi, you can do this by creating a symbolic link to the Pictures folder on /dev/sdb from your home folder. Open Terminal (from Menu) and do:
Code: Select all
ls ~/Pictures

As you indicated you have your pictures stored on /dev/sdb, this folder should not show any files. Copy them somewhere else if there are. Then delete the Pictures folder in your home folder and create the symbolic link to /dev/sdb Pictures folder (be sure to replace MOUNTPOINT by where you have mounted /dev/sdb and FODLERNAME by the name of the pictures folder on /dev/sdb):
Code: Select all
rm -fr ~/Pictures
ln -s /MOUNTPOUNT/FOLDERNAME ~/Pictures

Ah, that is the more graceful solution  The first comments are wrong for Linux Mint BTW, so do what is listed in comment #6: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7263962&postcount=6
