[solved]using the browser interrupts sound play back

Post by wyrdoak »

I have started noting that sometimes when I use the browser I need to restart my media player when playing sound files.
my best guess it the problem my be that usb3 and the WiFi 'ath9k' is using the same io17. I only have a limited number of USB ports to connect a external hard drive.

Could this be the cause? before I go off on a goose chase or could is be something else?

Re: using the browser interrupts sound play back

Looks like I might just be over using the Atom CPU. I copied an album to the Internel HDD from the External HDD and played it. Pulled up the browser, player seems to be working better until I go to a flash intensive site then when the system load gets over 2.47 the player stops.

There is never a silver bullet for a problem, but right now from what I can see, my problem looks like a combo of using the same IO and a system load problem?

found and upgraded to Kernel 3.0.3

BTW: had to install this to make my WiFi work http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/m ... less-crda/ after uninstalling the crda that was installed.
