Re: install openbox on LMDE XFCE
Yes, it is possible to install the Openbox WM along side Xfce.
The Openbox WM is available through the Synaptic Package Manager.
If you have used Openbox before, you will need to, also, install other needed Apps that compliment Openbox.
Like ObConf and Nitrogen (for handing the background) ... and a couple of others.
I chose everything that looked like it belonged with Openbox.
And with Openbox, you can still use the default xfce-panel or give tint2 a try.
After installing Openbox ... re-boot, and at the Log-in screen select 'Sessions' and choose into which desktop you wish to use.
I have LMDE-2011.09 (x64) with the Fluxbox WM installed over Xfce.
Fluxbox - works great - light on resources, very fast and extremely customizable.
Both Openbox and Fluxbox, are Window Managers, based on the original Blackbox WM.
