multilib in LMDE?

is there a way to install multilib LMDE?

Im trying to install a commercial .deb which is made for i386. I tried this, and posted the return

 package architecture (i386) does not match system (amd64)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 gp6-full-linux-r10558.deb

and

dpkg -l shows no i386 packages. i figured id ask before i borked something trying to dpkg -i lib*i386.deb or gcc*1386.deb

If possibly, I'd suggest you try the solutions offered in there first on LMDE running through VirtualBox, or from the Live DVD. (Always better to check than to bork )
