I installed another distribution on my laptop (Debian squeeze stable). However in this distribution my wireless card's driver are not included because they are nonfree, and I have no other way to access the internet than setting up a wireless connection, which means that I need internet to download the drivers which will enable me to set up the internet connection. Funny, but not really to my liking
So basically, I tried to download the driver-containing drivers via my linux mint 12 install, here's what I did (in linux mint 12)
-> edited /etc/apt/sources.list by adding the source of the .deb package I need
-> sudo aptitude update
getting:
W: GPG error: http://ftp.us.debian.org squeeze Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY AED4B06F473041FA
then trying, just in case:
-> sudo aptitude download mypackages
And it fails, because the packages are not compatible with my system. << I know that, that's why I asked you to download it and not to install it you piece of "crumble" >>
Okay, I'm getting irritated because the system is intelligent enough not to let me try to install something that will mess things up, so I can't really take it personally
I got accross the man aptitude without finding how to force things up. Are you aware of any way I could download these packages from linux mint 12? Or could you give me any hint of another way to get the job done?
