Carbon Mint - Updated

Post by Jernau »

I've been struggling to find any Linux Mint wallpapers at 2560x1600... so I decided to make my own:

The 1600x1200 version for those of you with a 'normal' aspect ratio monitor:

Thanks to Izobalax for making the wallpaper that inspired this one.

A new version - this time with reflection:

Now it looks even more like the default wallpaper from Celena

Its really nice!!! Keep up the good work
Do you have the SVG? Or do you want to keep it copyrighted or don't want to share it? Its fine with me if you don't want to share it

The SVG of the Linux Mint logo? For this wallpaper I used the bitmap version of the logos that you can find here.

It's no problem to send you a version of the wallpaper without the logo - it's a bitmap though, not vector based. Feel free to PM me your e-mail address and the resolution you would like.

I created the stripes using the Stripe Generator, so you can also play with that to design your own stripy background :)

I decided to revisit my original Carbon wallpaper and update it with a new version of the logo I have been working on (and do a KDE version this time):

Could you make a version of the reflective wallpaper with the same size logo that you used in the original? I am trying to make a GDM Theme for the Gnome version of Mint. I want to make one that looks like this.

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. ... tent=68239

For the GDM Theme I think it would look good with the logo placed like it is in Minty Stripes. If the logo is placed like this the options bar can be centered and it will look awesome.

I want to have the wallpaper with the size logo that is in the original and centered but with the reflection.

Minty Stripes has been my favorite for a long time but I like the way you have done the background and I think your work would make an even better theme.

I'd be happy to help you make your GDM theme in any way I can, but I'm not sure that I fully understand what you're looking for...

My understanding of what you would like:
  • The new logo, but smaller (the size of the original logo) - or do you want the original logo?
  • Reflection
  • Logo and reflection placed higher up the image (so the options bar can be centred)
Is this correct? Also what resolutions would you need?

I'm looking forward to seeing your GDM already :)

- I would like the new logo, the size of the original Carbon Mint only with the reflective effect. (either logo is nice)

Everything else sounds great!

1280 x 1024 will work fine, the resolution is not a problem for the GDM.

I look forward to seeing your work! Your metal theme is extremely nice too!

I need the logo lower and sized like this.

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. ... tent=68239

You can extract the wallpaper from the above GDM to get a better look.

I have everything ready for the GDM Theme!
