I understand why you think that will look better, and maybe you're right. However, the reason the leaf appears below center is because of the camera angle (if the camera was lowered to horizontal then the leaf would appear to be in the middle of the ball.)
sarahmarienc2 wrote:These are all amazing! I love the new logo! BEAUTIFUL, elegant, simple, but oh so classy. And the wallpapers are great too. Nothing but compliments here. I hope to see a few of these on LM 6 official release :)
Thanks Sarah. :)
dberg918 wrote:What program did you use to render that scene, Jernau? It looks amazing!
Cinema 4D and thanks! :)

Could you please make this wallpaper with pure white background colour as well? Really loved it(!), but black is to dark colour for long time use for me :(

It's great to see one of my wallpapers 'in the wild'! :)

Are the orange borders a design choice, or do you have it like that due to the lack of a normal aspect ratio version of the wallpaper?

Thanks. :D

Unfortunately, that was just an example to show the new logo in action (and not an actual grub screen). Though, perhaps someone who's good at making grub screens might do something with it?

That wallpaper was rendered, so changing the background colour to white might be tricky. However, if I get a second I'll have a play and see what I can come up with. :)

Yes, only black is to dark for me to work with, the orange makes me awake

I've created a square version of the new logo, for use when the full length logo won't fit (or for when a square logo just looks better).
[Large version (1300x1300)] [Small version (90x90)]

This is how the current Linux Mint logo looks on DistroWatch:

I've created normal-aspect-ratio versions for all the 're-imagined' wallpapers. For convenience here are previews linking to the deviantART pages where you can download the RARs containing the widescreen and normal-aspect-ratio versions:

Thanks! I really like the grassy one, it brightens things up and really compliments the default artwork. Thanks again!
