Another Password Problem

Postby xsilvergs on Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:19 pm

Hi new to Forum,

My system automatically boots into LMDE without me having to type in a password but today something has happened.

The system still boots and enters my account but if I use the Terminal it does not recognise my password and I get this text
Code: Select all
tony@ezcool:~$ sudo gedit
[sudo] password for tony:
Sorry, try again.
[sudo] password for tony:
Sorry, try again.
[sudo] password for tony:

Sometime ago I created a second account for my wife with the same password, if I logout I can't log back in again as either of us as the password is not recognised.

Can somebody help please? Is there a way to reset the password?

Many thanks

Managed to answer my own question using this Link.

Always amazes me how I can spend hours looking for the answer and minutes after asking the question I find the answer myself.
