Kernel version

I have LMDE amd64 and have installed UP 6.
My /etc/apt/sources.list looks like:

deb http://packages.linuxmint.com/ debian main upstream import romeo
deb http://debian.lth.se/lmde/latest testing main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.lth.se/lmde/latest/security testing/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://debian.lth.se/lmde/latest/multimedia testing main non-free
# Virtualbox
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian wheezy contrib

and uname -r gives me 3.2.0-4-amd64.

Why is LMDE using an old kernel when stable 3.7.1 is already out ?

lmde follows debian testing; testing is in deep-freeze preparing for the new debian 7 release next year; no new features are added in this period; debian 7 will ship with 3.2; after the freeze we will see a new kernel for sure.

anyway debian is not about latest&greatest (not even in sid)
