2.6.38.2 speed increase

Is it possible to patch the debian stable kernel with the new speed patch without installing the 2.6.38.2 kernel? or without adding more bugs to the system? and how do you install the 2.6.38.2 kernel?

Would 2.6.37.6 be more stable? less bugs?
