Debian CE Artwork...

Thanks for thinking my logo is great. =)

To whomever made the logo with green twirl instead of magenta; atleast let me, who's got the PSD (Yes, I use Photoshop.) make it so it becomes crisp.



I personally did not like the colors on this one.

Yea i still don't quite understand what you mean, lol sorry, could you make it?

if this is indeed what you had in mind cool but i personally am not a fan of the first one but i quite like the second one, maybe if it was black e.g. the third one.

yea im still liking your magenta one more aswell but atleast i felt that if people wanted to make it more minty in some way that making the swirl green would be the least offensive to your very nice work, and yea please you go ahead and make the good quality one mine were merely examples to get the inspiration running i spent about 10 seconds making it lol .

i'm having a hard time explaining what's really in my mind here. i guess this is the consequence when english is not your native language. anyway what i meant was put the silver linings "ON" the "Mint" word itself...the same manner they were put on the LM-logo...the linings must be glossy(shiny something like that)...i don't know if it'll look good though...

This one is spot on, I think.

I know that the magenta better shows the Debian logo, but does it really need to? I mean, we need to make sure the logo doesn't look like it's for LM rather than LM Debian, but it doesn't actually have to have the complete Debian logo in it.

Also, I know that this distro doesn't have to have artwork like all the other mint distros (as someone pointed out earlier), but it is still a mint edition, so we do have to follow suit in some way.

haha yea its ok, the way you said "on the actual "mint" word itself..." i think i finally get what you mean now. I was thinking of the LM-logo as being the actual logo not the writing. here's what i came up with... using ede's logo but the .png which being a non vector looks rather poor, so maybe he could re-do what i've done if everyone wants this.



1. (top left) is ede's logo (poor quality version) with the lining or drop shadow off set similar to the official one and with no blur so you can see the placing more clearly.
2. (top right) is the official logo once again i changed the blur so you can see i placed the drop shadow in the same position and also i changed the half the text to black so you can compare easier.
3. (bottom left) is ede's logo with the blur to match the official one.
4. (bottom right) is official logo half black to compare.

**the only thing i think we could change is to have the swirl the official colour to match the "mint" writting and i think that would look rather nice.

I don't like how "nt" is made prominent by coloring it green. It reminds one of Windows NT and that's not a good reference.

If anyone's got any ideas for a different one, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I've used my old logo for now, but I'll change it when we've agreed on a new logo.

I know im not a big contributor on to the mint project, but id like to contribute an opinion
i feel that the debian release shouldn't deviate much from the other releases as far as the general "theme" goes.
i really like what i posted below.

I think this is absolutely amazing, Absolutely what i would want an onlooker to see while i was showing off my system. i wouldnt mind seeing a version where the debian swirl was the sloppy one withe the "hand painted" look

This looks awesome, im using it as my wallpaper as of now ^_^

i like this too, the n being taller is nice, and i like how the background isnt completely pinstriped.
once again, id love to see it with the sloppy debiabn logo

the mint logo with the sloppy debian weaving around the LM is by far my favorite, id be using this as a wallpaper but the burst of light isnt agreeing with me.

anyways, just my .02c as a somewhat noob user

While the posted GDM theme is lovely, I envisioned something truly spectacular for Linux Mint Debian Edition. Afterall, Linux Mint's tagline is indeed "from freedom came elegance." In the case of Linux Mint Debian, the new catch phrase should be "from Debian came elegance." To that end, please feel free to critique my GDM logon theme. I also have a matching wallpaper and Gnome Splash screen for interested parties. This uses my favorite rendition of the proposed Debian Mint logo. Feedback welcome!

Phill: Nice wallpapers. But 2 things.

1. The logo/text is too big on all three, IMO.
2. On the second one, you can see the black square beneath the logo overlapping the spacy space. Should be fixed.
