I've been running Mate 13 for awhile and wanted to see how LMDE was doing. I installed LMDE 201204 in Vbox and went straight to mintUpdate like a good little trooper and encountered this:
The sheer size of the download makes me wonder if I somehow did something wrong, but I've double-checked everything.
Maybe it's time for a new snapshot?
Almost a GB of updates for a fresh install, is that normal?

Yeah, live image is up4. up5 hasn't been released yet as iso. should be some 1330 packages:P

Yeah, I sorted through the blog just now, and they said that a new snapshot will arrive "in the coming weeks/months." Doesn't sound like it's at the top of their priority list :p Oh well.
Apparently UP5 is a huge update. When I was using LMDE before, it was hardly getting updates at all, which was why I switched to Mint 13.

In between UPs on LMDE you won't much updating at all. Any updates would be revised Mint-specific packages and maybe Firefox/Thunderbird.
