Dealing with a bug in testing that is fixed in unstable?

Hi All

I am trying to install and use a package call "paraview" in LMDE. As it turns out, there is a bug that is in "testing" as outlined here:

The solution, as mentioned, is to install libmysqlclient16 from "unstable". There are some addition dependencies involved in doing this. So, my question is this. Can I change my sources.list refereneces to "testing" to "unstable", update and install libmysqlclient16, change "unstable" back to "testing". ending with a final update?

I have seen where others have done that for a specific application or group of packages. Make sure you only install the packages and dependencies required. Do not do a full upgrade such as apt-get upgrade or apt-get dist-upgrade if you are using the terminal. Likewise in Synaptic do not make all available upgrades.
