I don't know how many of the users here have been using linux long enough to remember Ximian Desktop but I think maybe this would be a good approach for the Mint Team to use for the Mint Debian Edition.
This would take some of the work load off, as updated releases would not be necessary. (And users could stop @#$%ing)
Mint Debian Edition would become Linux Mint Desktop.
Users would download the latest Debian release and install it.
Then they would download the Mint Desktop and install it along with all of the tools etc.
The Mint Desktop installation could give the user the option of changing the repositories to Debian Testing or continue running Debian Stable plus Mint Desktop updates and "enhancements".
