Debian LMDE i386 (build #20110807-2200)
Back
Maintainer:
clem
Status: Approved for RC release
And that is where?

http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/linuxmint.com/testing/?C=M;O=D

Lists the last LMDE version as 201104, released in March. The only 201108 releases are linuxmint-201108-gnome...... and linuxmint-201108-xfce......

I don't see any mention of the words 'debian' or 'lmde' in there. So do I guess that this means it is an LMDE release? If I did guess that would I be right? Has 'linuxmint' suddenly become 'lmde' or 'debian'? Am I totally insane? Lost my grasp on reality? Can someone tell me WIHIH or possibly rename the rc iso's if by some remote chance I am right?

Any version of Mint without a version number (like Mint 11) but with a respin date (like Mint 201108 Gnome) is Debian based.

viking777,
These are the LMDE RCs on that link
linuxmint-201108-xfce-32bit-rc.iso 09-Aug-2011 03:28 1.1G
[ ] linuxmint-201108-xfce-64bit-rc.iso 09-Aug-2011 03:24 1.0G
[ ] linuxmint-201108-gnome-64bit-rc.iso 08-Aug-2011 20:27 1.1G
[ ] linuxmint-201108-gnome-32bit-rc.iso 08-Aug-2011 19:16 1.2G
The LMDE RC releases have yet to be announced on the blog - that is probably why they are still sitting in the Testing directory. From what Clem said on another thread I think he has serious connection trouble where he is at the moment, this may make synching to the mirrors a bit slow

And that makes sense to you????

I am not saying you are wrong, but if that is logic then it is beyond my grasp, so I suspect many others as well.

If it said linuxmint-debian-201108-gnome....... then even I would get it. :)

Edit. I just saw zz's post from Clem's blog (never mind it wasn't there this afternoon, it wasn't there 10 minutes ago! ). But the file is still named
linuxmint-201108-gnome-32bit-rc.iso
which to me doesn't suggest the slightest connection with lmde - sorry. I guess the clue is that it comes from a blog post titled:
Linux Mint Debian 201108 RC (Gnome and Xfce) released!
But if the word 'Debian' is in the blog heading it ought to be in the filename as well.

I have wasted a week looking for this file because it is incorrectly named, and now I have found it I am going away and won't have a computer with me to make use of it - thanks
