On a personal note: I have talked with zack (DPL) via email and on the /OFTC #debian IRC on several occasions . . . he is extremely knowledgeable about Debian and Open Source. The DPL, himself recommended me for a Moderator position with Ask.Debian.net (a Debian Support Forum) and for my new position as a Debian-Maintainer. (DM)
