Linux mint's mintUpdate tool is very nice, and has a lot of potential. It rates updates based on their safety level. I would like to implement automatic ratings for the Glacix version based on their origin, but I really don't know much about Python, so I'd need someone to help me out with this.
My ideas for ratings are:
1 - anything from security.debian.org
2 - Debian or debian-multimedia (stable/etch)
3 - Debian or debian-multimedia (testing/lenny)
4 - Linux Mint (these packages are designed for Mint, so they may have problems with Glacix. If Glacix had its own repository, it would be a 1 or 2)
4 - Debian or debian-multimedia (unstable/sid)
5 - Debian experimental, known blacklisted packages from sid (if there is someone to blacklist them)
As I said, this would likely require a lot of hacking - from what I can tell, mintUpdate now filters only on package names, version, etc. and not by source.
This isn't absolute priority, but it would be a nice thing to have, especially if this turns into a Mint CE one day.

maybeway36, I am not sure this is a good idea to mix sources of Stable, Testing, Unstable and Experimental... This is risky, I guess rather you should choose one, I hope Testing, and stay only with it. (plus of course the same for Debian-Multimedia)

It will be based on Debian testing, but people can dist-upgrade to sid later if they want.
Right now, the quick fix I've made is making 3's unchecked by default, so people should only upgrade if they know it's safe.
