Linux lmde-laptop 2.6.32-5-686 #1 SMP Thu Nov 25 18:43:34 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

Overview of specs: I use an nVidia Geforce 8400 GS on a laptop. RAM is 2 gb and processor is 1.8 ghz intel. I use 32-bit LMDE with all updates applied.

Issue: I will use 2 Linux games as an example; OpenArena 0.8.5 and UrbanTerror 4.1.

I start off with great FPS. 125+ on OA and 70+ on UrT. Then my laptop tends to get hotter and hotter and the FPS drops to an unplayable level after only 5 to 10 minutes; I was just playing OpenArena with 10 FPS. This issue never used to exist before. I tried cleaning dust out, but that did nothing. I heard it mentioned on Ubuntu Forums that 10.04 had NVIDIA overheat problems due to a kernel bug. Do all distros suffer from this?

My NVIDIA driver is version 195.36.31-6 and I installed it the "Debian" way.
