Mint 13 & Gnome Shell

Installed and updated mint 13, then installed gnome shell. Problem is I cannot log into gnome shell, no option...except for gnome classic and I can't log into classic anyway it defaults to Cinnamon. Any known issues?.

Wifes got me cleaning house today, just to hard to google with an apron and pine sol in hand Anyway thanks for your reply I see there is a glich with MDM...gootta run, don't wnat the wife to see me on pc...supposed to be cleaning toilet

If you are cleaning the house, only fair that she will fix the MDM problem The computer isn't going to fix itself, you know

I am curious as to any replies as I've had the same problem (and my wife has not made me clean the house today .... yet).

I was able to install Ubuntu 12.04 and also gnome-shell w/o any problem.

You could try switching to GDM.

I'm having the same problem. Has anyone attempted replacing MDM with LightDM? I'm too afraid to try

You should install gnome-session as well (it somehow installed Unity as well for me, but it works!). Installing just gnome-shell won't work.
