Ambiance Theme Not Working Properly

Hell all. Ok, so I'm trying out MATE in Ubuntu 12.04. Unfortunately, the Precise repo won't let me install, so I had to install from the 11.10 repo. The problem I am having is that the themes aren't working right, and now I cannot even change them. I also get an error message when I attempt to load up the "Appearance" menu. I have a screenshot to show what I mean. If anyone knows of a way to fix these problems, and make Ambiance work correctly, please let me know. I am open to all suggestions. I know that 12.04 is a beta still, but it's worth a shot in my opinion. If we can't make it work, oh well. This is just a small little project of mine and I'd like to see if anyone here has any suggestions. Thanks!
