Change/Remove Desktop Icons

Hello Guys

How can i remove the desktop icons on Mate DE? I tried usual methods such as gconf-editor, ubuntu-tweak etc. but failed every time. It can be easy but i could not make it so any help would be appreciated.

search ur menu for "desktop settings" its all there
its located under preferences

I have installed mate-conf-editor problem solved.
