[SOLVED] How would I remove the last panel in MATE?

Postby RytronII on Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:40 am

Hi.

How would I remove the last panel in MATE?

This would be useful to know if I want to use a dock such as awn.

I know it is done in GNOME2 like so:
ALT+F2
gconf-editor
/desktop/gnome/session
edit key "required_components_list"
Remove "panel" from list
Log out/in

Try "right clicking" on the panel. You should see an option to Delete the panel.

That option is greyed out if you have just 1 panel left.

I think I found it.

Configuration Editor -> Desktop ->MATE -> Applications -> Session -> Required Components ->Panel

I didn't mess with it as I don't want to have to restore my ops from my recent backup image.

Hi DataMan. Which config editor? dconf-editor or gconf-editor? I don't see those exact options. :?:

Look under All Applications for "Configuration Editor".
