Blank Pointer Captions Mint 11 Gnome 32Bit

My Pointer Captions have gone missing. Showing black rectangles where the text should be.

This also happens when I hover over a Bookmark in Fire Fox and over any application icon.
How can I get these Pointer Captions working again?

Altering/reloading my desktop theme fixed the problem.
