[Solved] Should Compizconfig Settings Manager work on MATE?

Postby aelfinn on Thu Aug 09, 2012 9:07 am

Sorry if this has been asked before (search turned up nothing):

I’d like to use CCSM on LM13 MATEx64, mainly in order to achieve the following:

- fade transitions when switching workspaces
- switching workspaces using the mouse wheel
- transition effects for minimizing windows

I installed CCSM, but it doesn’t really seem to do anything. What am I missing?

Are you running and using the compiz fusion icon and selecting your windows manager to compiz?

You can try running compiz --replace also put it as the command for a startup application if you want it at startup.

for windows decoration you will need to add gconf-editor and change you window frames from there compiz don't use mate-gconf-editor then go apps/metacity/general/go down to theme and change the key to the theme you want.

Yes, that!! :D

Thanks a lot! Only problem so far: my window borders are stuck in Spidey or something. Trying to change them to the usual Mint-Z has no effect. Any ideas?

(With COMPIZ) To change the window border theme open up

gconf-editor, (If not installed, it in the repos) then go to

apps >> metacity >> general >> theme (change to theme you choose) :)

Probably a Gnome 3.xx 'thingie'...
Gnome 3.xx doesn't like users to 'change things' easily
