Hello everyone how are you?

but now I can't download any packges any more
when I try to use terminal I showes
sudo: apt-get: command not found

also with synaptic
W: Unable to read /etc/apt/preferences.d/ - DirectoryExists (2: No such file or directory)

and when trying to download anything
E: The method driver /usr/lib/apt/methods/http could not be found.
E: Unable to lock the download directory

so can anyone help me?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

it seems to be a broken keyring problem others using are experiencing the same problem.

You can try this to fix the apt problem. I'm unsure about how fix your other problems though.

Launch Synaptic Package Manager by selecting menu

System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager

type apt in the quick search textbox

In the list you'll see apt

right click and choose Mark for Installation

click on Apply button in the top

NOTE: if it is already installed and not working, do the above steps but when you right click and select Mark for Comple Removal and click Apply

then reinstall using steps above
