Does mate-conf-editor exist? apt-get fail!

I red about mate-conf-editor as a fork of gconf-editor, but I can't find it:

Does it exist? Is something changed?

Which MATE version? As per the release notes on MATE 1.6, MateConf is dropped and replaced by GSettings: http://mate-desktop.org/blog/2013-04-02-mate-1-6-released/

The MATE that comes with Mint 15

ps gsettings is a commandline drama, gconf was an useful tool - so, my question again, is there a mate version of gconf?

Linux Mint 15 has MATE 1.6. You can install dconf-tools package to get dconf-editor as the graphical editor for GSettings. All this explained on the MATE Wiki: http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/docs:gsettings

A suggestion (maybe I have to suggest to Mate developers) - why not create a simple link or shortcut to something more user friendly like "mateconf-editor" as it was before? there's no way to detect which configuration editor to install/use in this way than reading a lot of google stuff or ask into forums
