I don´t know if this is a bug or just something new in LM 16, which I´m using. As the topic says, all folders that are in my home folder are shown on the desktop, when I remove a folder from the desktop it gets completely deleted. I´ve looked through desktop setting, the appearence settings and a few other places, but I´ve found nothing.
Anyone got any ideas?

Re: Folders in home folder shown on the desktop
This worked in earlier Mate desktops but I have no idea about 16:
Install a utility:
Open it from the Menu:
Menu > System Tools > dconf Editor
Then go to org > mate > caja > preferences
And see if "desktop-is-home-dir" is checked. If it is uncheck it.
I don't remember if you need to logoff and logon again. I'm guessing you do.
Install a utility:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools
Menu > System Tools > dconf Editor
Then go to org > mate > caja > preferences
And see if "desktop-is-home-dir" is checked. If it is uncheck it.

Re: Folders in home folder shown on the desktop
Thanks for replying. I followed your instructions and the "desktop-is-home-dir" was unchecked. However, I looked around a little bit in the dconf editor and found at desktop > background "show-desktop-icons", which I unchecked and now there are no icons at all, which is fine by me.
