BOOT ISO File

Post by djr0379 »

Hi,

I am new to Linux. I am considering moving from XP to Linux. I tried to run the ISO file from a CD and nothing happened. I found the following code in the XP startup options. Can someone please help me?

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

What do you mean with "nothing happend". The screen stayed black? The CD was ignored and Windows XP booted instead? For the latter, make sure your BIOS is set up correctly to boot from the CD before booting from hard disk.
