Is there a tortoisehg-caja package for Mint Mate?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Really????

Nobody use Mercurial on Mint? Maybe I'm using the wrong distro?

I use Mercurial on Mint, but I don't use Caja: I prefer Double Commander.
But, anyway, no mercurial integration, unfortunately. By the way, here's my similar thread: viewtopic.php?f=47&t=159520

But as long as you use Caja, why don't just use Nautilus?
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install nautilus python-nautilus

Then, download package tortoisehg-nautilus_2.4-2_all.deb from there: http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/all/ ... s/download (pick a mirror of your choice). And then,
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg -i tortoisehg-nautilus_2.4-2_all.deb

Now, if you run nautilus, there will be overlay icons and other tortoisehg stuff.

But, it works in nautilus only. It's very disappointing that in 2014 we still don't have some generic way to define context menu and overlay icons on Linux.

Good idea.. :D

Any way to have the systemn use nautilus as the default file viewer instead of Caja?

Probably
Code: Select all
sudo mv /usr/bin/caja /usr/bin/_caja_backup
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/nautilus /usr/bin/caja

:-D

It's just off the top of my head. No idea if this cause some side effects. At least, there are some additional caja binaries:

Code: Select all
$ ls /usr/bin | grep caja
caja
caja-autorun-software
caja-connect-server
caja-file-management-properties

It might cause some problems probably.

sounds dangerous!

I use Mint because it "usually" provides the freedom for me to use what applications I want to instead of what the distro god says.

In this case it looks like I'm being force fed.....
