Possible problem with firewall ufw & Gufw?

Anyone notice any problems in Mint Petra 16 MATE with the firewall ufw & Gufw where the rules keep getting deleted or changed? Also I cannot run it directly from the menu, it will only run from the terminal window (even a launcher invoking it with sudo won't work). This occurs immediately after a fresh install and the rules are added in using gufw, Is this a bug or do I have a virus or hacker?
